Shipping and Freight
We ship using a variety of transport partners. Our aim is to ship all online orders within 1 business day of receipt of order (with the exception of kayaks & canoes which take longer to prepare).
Please provide us with the following information so we can facilitate a fast and reliable service:
- Valid contact number (mobile) – We or our delivery partner may need to contact you regarding your order and some of our partners will automatically text you information about your shipment
- Valid email address – we will use this email to update you and communicate any status changes or delays with you regarding your order to you via email as our preferred option.
- Correct address to avoid delay and extra costs. Please note that we are not responsible for loss or costs if an incorrect address is given.
- If you are receiving goods at home, please ensure someone is there to sign the consignment note – you will usually receive email / text with the tracking number.
- If you are not going to be home, we ask that you to have your parcel sent to your work address or other suitable daytime delivery address to ensure that someone is available to accept the delivery.
To calculate a shipping price add items to your cart then update your postcode and suburb in the shipping calculator on the cart or checkout pages.
Want it fast?
We can ship EXPRESS to capital cities for most regular parcels (not paddles or extra bulky items). For most capital city postcodes you can select Express at checkout. If you want it fast and the shopping cart won’t facilitate Express, let us know and we will take care of it if we can. Please note that EXPRESS usually means 1 – 4 days. It depends a great deal on where you are located.
Dispatch Times
Orders and deliveries are processed Monday to Friday excluding public holidays. Most orders (except kayaks/canoes) are dispatched within one business day of receipt of order.
How long will it take?
Please always allow extra time. Couriers and Australia Post are often talking longer (sometimes much longer) than stated times for delivery. This is particularly the case for remote and regional areas. Usually you will be provided with a tracking number. You can monitor progress with your shipment using the tracking number and please remember that courier tracking software it not always 100% perfect. If you are wanting more information what happened to your shipment please contact the courier via their app.
If you live outside a capital city please allow extra days. If you live in a out of the way place / remote or in the north of Australia please allow lots of extra time. If you parcel arrives quickly then that’s a bonus
Kayak shipping
We ship to many locations in Australia. However there are many out of the way places that we cant ship to, and there are quite a few places where freight rates are very expensive.
We use a variety of methods to ship kayaks. Sometimes there are delays of up to a 3 plus weeks in shipping kayaks & canoes (Perth metro, allow 3 – 5 days). This is because we usually use specialist kayak/canoe transport companies who make delivery runs only when there is sufficient demand.
Please note that kayak deliveries cant be ‘redirected’ and you must agree to be home when the kayak is delivered. Redeliveries (where the courier takes the goods away and then attempts delivery again at a later stage) are usually not possible and if they are there will be an extra charge that you must pay. This re delivery charge can be significant.

Shipping Composite and Thermoform kayaks
Please note that there is a degree of risk when shipping fibreglass / carbon / thermoform kayaks. We take great care when packing etc but on the rare occasion that damage occurs, please note that it is a condition that you jointly accept this risk. If a kayak arrives with minor damage we will ask you to have it fixed locally. If there is major damage we will discuss with you the various options such as a discount to compensate or replacement. Or you can take out insurance to cover you or ask us to give you that option. Generally we wont ship to what we call remote locations unless there is insurance
Bulky items
Products classified as large goods such as kayaks, canoes, paddles, crates etc have higher shipping costs, particularly when transported to regional towns or long distances across Australia.
Signature and Delivery
Our method usually is “Signature Required” to ensure your parcel is delivered to you with minimal delay and any risk of loss.
If you have placed an order with us online, you will usually be emailed or sent a text with a link with tracking details (for most of our couriers) once your order has been dispatched from our warehouse.
If you are not likely to be at home we advise you to have your parcel sent to your work address or other suitable daytime delivery address to ensure that someone is available to accept the delivery. If your address includes a level or is a business please make sure you provide us with the company name. Or, if you are happy to have the courier leave the parcel if no one is at home, please advise us.
For most of our parcels, if a parcel is not picked up from the nearest post office or depot, a Return to Sender fee of $10 may be charged.
When we use Australia Post they will notify you by Email and / or SMS alerts if you have provided the correct details during the check out.
Specific delivery instructions – please note that couriers will use their discretion about where they place your parcel and will not always place it in a specific location that may have been requested.
Delivery Delays, Incorrect Addresses, and Return to sender
The shipping times provided indicate approximate shipping times only – they are not guaranteed delivery times. Paddlesports Megastore cannot be held responsible for delays in parcels arriving at their destinations. This includes, but is not limited to: delays with any nominated carriers or carrier agents/representatives, delays in customs processing and clearance, delays resulting from industrial strikes/protests/wars/natural disasters, road, traffic or busy periods with freight companies.
If the address is incorrect there maybe be significant delays and extra costs. Some couriers allow change of address in some circumstances and some automatically return to sender. Usually both of these events incur extra costs which at the customers expense
If a delivery attempt has been made you may get a note / message to pick up from a local depot or post office. Parcels are held for a limited time an then returned to sender. In this case you will be liable for charges if any, or a redelivery if needed. Also please note that returns like this often take longer to get back to us. We don’t know why but its a thing.
Want to know where your parcel is?
If you want to find out what’s happening with your parcel you can go the the tracking page on the courier web site and find out. And if your parcel is significantly delayed you can place a query direct with the courier. Please note that courier software is not perfect and relies on valid input, so sometimes if the tracking doesn’t make sense, then it maybe be because something has not scanned correctly (or some other glitch)
Backorders and out of stock
We always try to make sure our web site accurately reflects what we have in stock, however sometimes, we can’t ship what you have ordered. Usually its because we are out of stock and out stock levels are incorrect. If this happens we will contact you and you can elect for a full refund or to wait for new stock to arrive
How much will it cost
To check your actual shipping charge go to the shopping cart. Prices subject to change. Prices for regional, country and remote will be higher. For capital cities all normal sized parcels ship for a flat rate of $9 ($8 for Perth and Melbourne)
There are higher charges for bulky items such as Trolleys, paddles, and PFDs

Local Pickup
Orders marked for “Local Pickup”, must be collected from one of our retail stores – Perth/O’Connor. We will contact you to confirm when order is ready for collection.
International
We do ship to some countries. If you want more info please email us. Please note there are no change of mind returns on international orders and if you want to return something you must pay the postage. Please note that any additional charges on arrival are at the buyers expense. Some countries charge duties and tax and landing charges.
