Boreal Designs Large Soft Rubber Oval Hatch is used on many brands and models of kayaks. This Hatch Cover comes with a Cord leash and P-Clip to secure it to your kayak (Internally)

Distinguished by the raised image of a Narwhal and the letters BD on the outside of the hatch cover it is easy to tell if your kayak uses this hatch (if you still have the cover) The other way is to measure the rim.

Made in Canada this large soft rubber hatch is used on the oval rear hatches on a number of makes and models of kayaks. Normally when fitted to a composite, thermoformed, or roto moulded kayak it fits securely to a separately constructed hatch rim. This is especially noticable on Roto-Moulded kayaks where the separate installed hatch rim will be clearly different to the material your kayak is made from. This hatch works best on its appropriate hatch rim and is not made to fit a standard roto-moulded hatch rim that is made as part of the kayak.

Suitable for a Hatch Rim that measures 44.5 x 32.5 cm (external)

This Hatch cover will fit the following kayaks (this list is not exhaustive by any means)

Surge kayaks: Kimberly, Trekker, Breaksea, Bayside (Standard and Ultralight versions), Lightning 12 UL, Tourer 13 UL, Explorer 14 UL, Explorer 16 UL and Explorer 17 UL (rudder and skeg versions)

Boreal Design kayaks: Storm series, Epsilon series, Baffin series, Baltic 120 (plastic and TX), Halo 130, Norsaq, Sedna and Riot MKII, Bayside 12 and Azul Journey 15.

Epic Kayaks may also use this for their rear hatch on the rotomolded (polyethylene) V5 & V7 surf skis. — the Epic PE V5 /V7 (but not all generations if your Epic originally came with a soft cover it will not suit). We suggest measuring your rim to make sure prior to purchase.
