The Action model designation refers to the robust outfitting in this model. With quick to adjust foot pegs, and minimal padding it’s ideal for schools and fleets where different users will need to get out on the water quickly and where ease of maintenance and durability are of importance.
The Katana Action Special 10.4 is a great all rounder and a great fleet kayak for teaching or hire. The Action in the name refers to the level of outfitting in the kayak. The Action level spec has a rear hatch, Rear bulkhead, Padded seat and backrest as well as quickly adjustable footrests.
The Action Spec is designed to be easy to adjust to allow for different paddlers where the kayak might be shared such as in a club school or family situation. The action spec is a step up from the club specification (Hatch and bulkhead included) and is ideal for people who want to paddle white water but don’t need all the features of the heavier less easily adjusted “creek” specifications but still want a full featured boat with dry hatches etc.

Creek Outfitting has amongst other features a rigid step-out brace between the legs (rather than the foam model sported in the action), Bulkhead footrest, Hip Pads, Adjustable padded Bottom pad, Ratchet adjustment for backrest and under thigh support as well as extra foam shims for the foot rest and hip pads.
