Harmony Bulkhead Wall Bracket with Hardware

This bracket is used to secure a 4 inch thick foam bulkhead, or supplemental foam floatation, to the inside of a kayak.
This can be used to replace an existing damaged bracket or used to install new or extra foam.

Common places you may see this used are at the front of recreational kayaks like some models of the Wilderness Systems Pungo and Aspire which lack a front bulkhead so a section of foam is inserted to aid level floatation in the event of ne’er-do-wellers trying to sink your kayak by filling it full of water.
Another place foam might be in kayaks used in white water as a safety feature. A pillar between the legs or behind the seats running longitudinally can help a kayak from keep its shape and avoid being squashed if it were to get pinned by water pressure against a river feature, examples might include perhaps in a wave hopper or other older/ cheaper models of shorter boats by brands like Dagger, Wavesport and Perception amongst others.

This Bracket wraps around the top of a block of foam like an upside down U bracket with the long plastic bolt is easily pushed through the foam to hold the bracket in place without damaging the foam over time as well as being gentle if scraped against soft wet skin etc.. The self tapping screw is used to secure the bracket to the kayak deck underside. The screw goes from outside the kayak through the deck into the plastic bracket.

The bracket is more secure and difficult to pull out by accident than screwing directly into the foam, whilst being easily removed if required. The long bold holds the bracket tightly preventing other forces from effecting the foam holding is securely in place

Foam does not have to be exactly 4 inches there is a fair amount of flexibility in the bracket however if you go a lot narrower you may need a different bolt
