Wilderness Systems Rudder Kit XL – Solo Kayaks

This near-universal rudder kit services many current and older Wilderness Systems solo kayaks. The kit includes footbraces, solo size rudder assembly (Doubles often have a longer larger rudder blade), cables, tubes (for the cables to run through), and hardware to fit both rudder-ready and non-rudder ready kayaks. It will also suit many other models from other brands such as some Dagger and Perception Kayaks.

The redesigned rudder blade has a foil-shape for more efficiency and less drag in the water and is lighter than older models

In fact most Wilderness Systems Kayaks that have rudder compatibility and were made in the last 15 years but do check before buying.

It can also be installed on Pamlico tandem kayaks with the addition of the Supplemental Rudder Kit and works on several (most) older models in plastic as well as some composite models .

• Sliding footbrace system allows you to steer with your feet
• Includes detailed instructions for most kayaks and all parts needed for installation. you will need a screwdriver for all models and likely a small spanner/ shifter. Some models without tubes prefitted may require a hole drilled or poked in the plastic so a small drill bit and drill (optional) can be useful.
