Also known as WILDERNESS SYSTEMS Locking Nut With Nylon Insert – 10-32 is commonly used for deck fittings where you can reach inside the kayak and tighten the nut with a spanner.  High Grade Stainless Steel for corrosion resistance, locks tightly and resists loosening over time especially from vibration caused by transport.

This nut in an imperial threaded Nyloc and as such has a White Plastic insert (blue inserts generally indicate Metric thread)

10-32 is a machine thread and finer than some of the threads found the coarser screws used in kayaks without nuts (e.g. into plastic footrests) it is pretty typical of the thread commonly used in this diameter fastening in kayaks although finer threads can be found.
