Stellar ST19 Tandem Ultralight- Skeg & Rudder

Stellar’s ST19 is a lightweight family boat is efficient and easy to paddle this boat is suitable for the beginner and advanced paddler alike. Complete with a skeg, and Rudder as well as hatches and bulkheads this fully functional kayak is a must for those looking to get out on the water recreationally as a duo.

This is the ultralight weight version of the ST19 kayak in the excel construction that weights 26 kg- Lightweight Advantage version here (slightly heavier and cheaper)

Comes with retractable skeg fitted. Location of the skeg control lever is typically on the right hand side of the rear cockpit near the paddler’s hip. Image shows the lever in a different location on the rear deck behind the paddler (this rear deck location is where the lever is located in the modular split apart for transport etc model).

This kayak comes with smart track rudder fitted by Stellar but ST19 tandem kayak is available with a skeg only option (Cheaper). The Skeg only option is “rudder ready” so the rudder is easily added at any time without the need for tools.

Configuration

The ST19 is a single piece version of the ST19-MOD tandem version (the MOD is a 3 piece pull apart kayak).

Cockpits

Egg shaped cockpit rim for a watertight fit on your spray skirt. Similar fit as the S14 G2.

Decks

Higher volume deck for Mid to large sized paddlers. Cut-aways on bow deck for narrow catch and an efficient stroke. Added Deck pod for convenient small item storage.

Bow & Stern Handles

Ergonomic carry handles for a comfortable haul to and from the water.- or use a trolley and store it in a hatch.

Stern Deck

Paddle recess to aid in remounts. Wider security bar opening. Static perimeter line and cross deck bungee.

Storage Compartments

Large stern hatch and medium bow hatch for 2 watertight storage compartments.

Steering

Stellar plate skeg provides tracking when deployed. As well this version comes as standard with a Smart Track Hybrid foil rudder which provides powerful steering when you need it.

Stability

Very stable hull design gives you confidence in varying conditions. A flat bottom in the middle provides high primary stability.

Slender bow section reduces the wetted surface area, making an efficient hull through the water

Excel Construction layup

Description: Very stiff and light, yet more affordable than the Ultra. Kevlar® adds impact strength to the laminate – Gelcoat finished heat cured epoxy Kevlar® and Fiberglass laminate with Nomex® Honeycomb Core. Great for racing, or those looking for a light boat, but not ideal for shallow water paddling. Other constructions are available- more details on these here
