Standard Spec Features

Recessed Gunwales

The “bump-bump-bump” of sliding an open canoe onto a trailer, a roof rack, a storage rack, or another craft is something many freelance paddlesports guides, instructors, and coaches will be all-too-familiar with – you can probably feel it in your arms as you read this. But no more! Our recessed gunwales do away with that inconvenience you’ve learned to suffer, and make it SO much easier to load and unload open canoes, as well as preventing fittings being shaken loose, and bolts, paddle shafts, fingers, or other craft being damaged. It’s one of those little things that make a huge difference.

Contoured Carrying Yoke

Fitted balanced, oiled to match the seats and shaped for comfortable shoulder carrying. The yoke also provides rigidity to the boat’s shell.

Durable, Moulded End Decks

Integrated, ergonomically shaped handle for comfortable carrying. The one piece end deck provides protection and strength to the bow and stern.

Heavy Duty Alloy Seat Hangers

Strong enough to cope with the excited wriggles of generations of new canoeists, and the demands of all shapes and sizes of paddlers. Can be reversed for an angled kneeling seat.

Tough Vinyl Gunwales

Scratch resistant and highly resilient to the forces exerted on gunwales.

Varnished Wood Web Seats

Not just an optional upgrade, these durable and attractive seats come as standard on all Venture Canoes.

Venture Kayaks & Canoes

Venture Canoes You only have to look at Founder and Managing Director, Graham Mackereth’s collection of historic canoes to know they’re serious about open boats. It wasn't long after the foundation of Pyranha that the inevitable happened, and pyranha made their first open canoe in 1977; trialling new materials and processes later led to them being the first to produce a triple layer foam sandwich canoe construction in 1989, they’ve continued to develop and consistently improve upon this construction to ensure Venture Canoes are a reliable choice for both individuals, schools and centres. By 2004 Venture had developed a comprehensive range of Open Canoes, and the creation of the Venture brand allowed them  to display these in their own space separate from pyranha with pride and the focus for future developments.
Each and every Venture Canoe & Kayak is designed and built in the UK by the same team behind Pyranha Whitewater Kayaks and P&H Sea Kayaks; their experience dates back to 1971, and their passion for canoeing and kayaking further still, with both flowing through everything they do today. 5 Great Reasons to Buy Venture Part of the Pyranha Family Over their 45+ year history, Pyranha Kayaks have been chosen for countless first descents including Everest’s river, the Dudh Kosi, and by numerous World Champions; it’s safe to say, we know what it takes to produce a great boat. Made by Enthusiasts, for Enthusiasts They’re paddlers themselves (you might even spot a few of them in the images on this website!), and all their boats are designed and manufactured by them; because that’s all they do, you can be sure that all of their attention, knowledge, and passion for the sport go in to each and every canoe & kayak they make, so you’ll get something that does more than just float! Crucially, if they wouldn’t be happy paddling it themselves, it doesn’t leave the factory. Simply Designed for Adventure The Venture Canoes & Kayaks range is designed to give you everything you need to get out on the water and start making the adventures of your dreams a reality; you won’t be paying for unnecessary accessories, carrying unrequired weight, or having to read extensive user manuals to work out how to operate the boat. Built to a Standard, Not a Price Venture Canoes & Kayaks are designed to perform for a lifetime; they use the best components and fittings available, for instance, our hatch covers are made by industry leaders, KajakSport. Advanced Polymer Construction They work closely with our suppliers to develop the most advanced polymers used in canoe & kayak production, with high UV, scratch, and impact resistance.
