Common for white water paddlers tropical water surfboard wax adds grip to your paddle in a similar manner to how it works on a surf board. Easy to modify if you don’t need it or like it. Tropical wax melts at a higher temperature so is the best suited version for use on paddle shaft where hands (that can be warm) will soften other waxes- if the water is not too cold. Tropical temperature wax still works in cold conditions 🙂
