Kajak Sport Skeg System Type 4 with Flange (Cord Version)

The Kajak Sport Skeg System 4 is their latest skeg concept. A Foil blade is operated with dyneema rope. Rope is a simple, light, friction and corrosion free coupling that does not kink. The Blade has unique rope adjuster to re-adjust the rope length if necessary. Blade has an easy snap in connection which makes it easy to install and remove. The Blade is equipped with corrosion free spring which allows free movement upwards when hitting in a obstacle to prevent damage.

Skeg system 4 has three different skeg box flange options: This is the option with the Flange – this enables fitting from the outside of the kayak. The flange can be trimmed or cut off to fit internally (i.e. installed into a composite kayak from the inside if the hull is to angled to allow for the flange)
Flange has a the total width 30mm. Flange has a hole at each end for a through hull mounting screw. (see installation instructions for specifications)

The Skeg is operated by a control unit that has a low profile control button to allow smooth recessed installation close to the cockpit area. It’s precise and stylish in use. The tab/Button is automatically locked in to the position to hold the blade in correct position.

Control unit and skeg box are equipped with specially designed Tube connector. Tube connector is quick and corrosion free cable connector offering solid and waterproof connection for 6 / 4 mm PA-tube. It requires no glue for sealing or installation. Quick to open and close anytime later for maintenance if necessary.

For easy waterproof installation of the skeg control unit There is an optional 521710 KS adapter box for boats that does not have deck recess for skeg control unit. Optional adapter box simplifies the installation and does not require any gluing. If you use this adaptor you can also unscrew the unit completely for maintenance.
