4mm D-SHACKLE G316 Stainless Steel –

This D Shackle is made from rounded (not flat plate) G316 Stainless Steel and especially suited for attaching rudder steering cable or cord to Rudders.

It’s rounded edges minimise wear and tear on the cable (or cord especially) and also the rudder rear assembly when compared to most rudder blocks. Allowing the rudder cables to be detached to allow transport where the rudder is to be removed in transit (useful when stacking or shipping especially).

Often combined with a thimble that will make a clean and smooth running secure eye (loop) in the cable for the shackle to pass through.

If 2 alternate rudder are used the detachability is also handy e.g. disconnecting a Rear trailing rudder to use an underslung Surf Rudder (which is in a different location). This is an option on some skis such as the Surge Drummer or Snapper, Finn Endorfinn, Spirit PRS, Nordic Breeze and is useful for transferring the same boat from shallow water river conditions to deep open ocean.

The Diameter of the Pin is 4mm- make sure it will fit in your rudder otherwise some drilling may be required
