The Light Rubber Cover (LRC) Hatch series is Kajak Sports latest hatch development (together with the LRC-HT series). Lightness and Elasticity describes this series biggest difference. This cover is made as an option to replace their “original” rubber cover. The LRC is stretchable to fit easily (and still be water tight) even on moulded plastic rims. It is lighter than the “original” rubber cover and has more elegant visual surface quality. The lightness can easily be noticed as this hatch really floats! The profile of the LRC-series is identical to the original rubber covers, so they’ll fit the same rims, however the “original” rubber cover is possible to over stretch. The LRC is more elastic so won’t over stretch The LRC material is fully UV and weather protected for long use.

Measure the hatch rim on the kayak
To determinate and ensure the correct hatch size, measure the hatch rim of your kayak.
Hatch rim can be separately made component like it is in the most of the composite kayaks or it can be integrated piece of a kayak deck like it is in the most of the rotomoulded plastic kayaks. The hatch rim outer dimension should be very close to the nominal dimension in order to fit, work and seal well with the hatch cover. Therefore the hatch rim outer dimension is the best and unchangeable dimension to determinate the correct hatch size.
