Mission 35cm Hatch Strap Single- With Hard Mount and Buckles

This is a single strap used normally to hold a hard hatch cover closed in place by mission on some of their kayaks. Some hatches require a single strap and some require a pair of straps.

This complete strap is made up of 2 mounts, 2 lengths of 38mm wide(1 ½ inch) webbing strap (sewn into position on the elliptical mounts) joined by an adjustable length side release buckle (like on a backpack waist strap), This makes one strap with a join in the middle. The loose ends are sewn over to aid in buckle retention when loosening.

This strap is available in 2 lengths 35cm (longer)- this size- suits hatches with a wider shape (centre or the wider part of rear hatches typically) but can also be used on all hatches including smaller hatches as it is adjustable) or the  30 cm (shorter version- typically used on front hatches). These strap sets are normally used to hold down the hard hatch covers on kayaks that have a combination hard/ neoprene hatch closure system (e.g. Mission Eco Bezhig, Contour 490, Econizh etc.) If in doubt buy this on (the longer one because it can be shortened to fit all the mission kayaks

Previous models may have used a single sided adjustment on the side release buckle augmented with a triglide buckle (to secure and allow length adjustment) on the non adjustable side of the SR buckle- Current model does the same thing but is easier to adjust, has less parts and looks neater.
