Nookie Insul8 3mm Neoprene Gloves

Nookie Inul8 are Neoprene Wetsuit Gloves made from 3.0mm neoprene with GBS* (solvent-free glued and blindstitched) neoprene seams. This technical construction offers warmth and protection. They function by trapping a thin layer of air or water between you and the glove. The thin layer is warmed by your body heat, keeping you warm while in the water. The GBS seams, and technical O-ring cuff minimise the flushing of water, therefore keeping your hands warmer.

These Neoprene Wetsuit Gloves are dry up to the cuff and will offer the best insulation of a watersports glove.

The Nookie Insul8 Glove has a relaxed pre-formed shape to anatomically fit your fingers comfortably. The palm offers grip from the Dura-Shark textured neoprene panel, and the outer glove has a mesh finish to repel water.

*GBS stands for glued and blind stitched seams, This is a type of seam that is water proof and is common in higher end neoprene wetsuits and items. In this case the fabric is joined first with glue to make a water proof joine and then stitched together but the stitching doesn’t go all the way through the fabric so is only visible from one side (Blind) so no holes are made all the way through the fabric.

The visible stitching may further be covered in glue to further water proof and protect the seams. 

Cheaper construction where the seam is visible on both sides of the fabric will be less waterproof as the thread has made a hole in the fabric making the item potentially not as warm but a bit cheaper to make (flat stitched etc)

Product Care

Although wetsuit items are tough and durable, they require care and regular cleaning to avoid build up of bacteria, grit, oils and salt crystals which can reduce comfort and their useful life.  You should wash your wetsuit items by hand after every use in clean, fresh water.  One of the easiest ways to do this is to hang them outside and thoroughly spray them with a hose until the water runs clear. Alternatively they can be submerged in clean water and gently squeezed to remove the excess water before hanging to dry. They should be drip dried away from direct sunlight or heat sources. There are specifically designed detergent products available to wash wetsuits, but you can use a heavily diluted mild washing detergent. Mix the detergent thoroughly in the water and submerge the item. Wash gently, squeeze out the dirty water, and allow it to soak a little while longer. If the neoprene is especially dirty or grimy, you may want to soak it overnight. Then rinse repeatedly until no more bubbles or suds from your cleaner appear. We do not recommend putting your wetsuit items in a washing machine. DO NOT put in a tumble dryer. DO NOT use fabric conditioner/softener. DO NOT dry in direct sunlight. DO NOT put away damp.
