Stellar Kingfisher G2 UltraLight Excel Construction

Stellar’s 16 foot Kingfisher is an intermediate sit-on-top and the 2nd generation of their popular S16S. The Kingfisher has an updated cockpit with a comfortable and ergonomic seat with a footwell that will fit both short and tall paddlers. Increased beam will make about any paddler able to paddle this boat and the modified rocker makes it easier to handle waves and to manoeuvre. The surprising speed of this hull will keep you competitive in your paddling group or a race.

Excel construction

Weight: 12.6 kg
Description: Gelcoat finished Kevlar and carbon fibre sandwich construction with Nomex honeycomb core. Epoxy resin laminate heat cured in the mould.

Steering Line
High strength Spectra Dyneema steering line controls the rudder direction. No rusting, and low stretch for instant response.
Seating
Ergonomic Generation 4 seat with back-band, low hump. Longer cockpit handles to carry the boat balanced even with a load in the hatch
Shaped Bow Deck
Peaked deck with higher volume near the cockpit helps to shed water in the rough stuff and allows for a narrow stroke catch.
Bow & Stern Handles
Stream-lined Carbon fibre handles.

Storage Compartments
2 Water tight storage compartments with bulkheads. The Cockpit hatch is now higher to keep it out of the water

Footbrace
3-point footbrace allows for a powerful leg drive with easy and responsive steering via toe pedals.

Steering
Standard over stern Smart track “ski” rudder, that pops up with obstacles or an optional under stern rudder for more power in the rough.
Cockpit
Fast draining Debrito venturi bailer that can be closed for a dry ride when not needed. D-ring anchors available for thigh straps and Clam shell seat pad.
Stability & Speeds
Long and efficient hull lines and a slender bow for low form and wave drag for a smooth and fast running hull. Increased waterline beam adds capacity and stability.
