Stellar Kingfisher Sit On Top S16S G2 Lightweight Advantage

Stellar’s 16 foot Kingfisher is an intermediate sit-on-top and the 2nd generation of their popular S16S. The Kingfisher has an updated cockpit with a comfortable and ergonomic seat with a footwell that will fit both short and tall paddlers. Increased beam will make about any paddler able to paddle this boat and the modified rocker makes it easier to handle waves and to manoeuvre. The surprising speed of this hull will keep you competitive in your paddling group or a race.

Description: Gelcoat finished fiberglass infused sandwich construction with Soric core- mat. Epoxy resin laminate heat cured in the mold.

Steering Line
High strength Spectra Dyneema steering line controls the rudder direction. No rusting, and low stretch for instant response.

Seating
Ergonomic Generation 4 seat with back-band, low hump. Longer cockpit handles to carry the boat balanced even with a load in the hatch

Shaped Bow Deck
Peaked deck with higher volume near the cockpit helps to shed water in the rough stuff and allows for a narrow stroke catch.

Bow & Stern Handles
Stream-lined Carbon fibre handles.

Storage Compartments
2 Water tight storage compartments (hatches) with bulkheads. The Cockpit hatch is now higher to keep it out of the water

Footbrace
3-point footbrace allows for a powerful leg drive with easy and responsive steering via toe pedals.

Steering
Standard over stern Smart track “ski” rudder, that pops up with obstacles or an optional under stern rudder for more power in the rough.

Cockpit
Fast draining Debrito venturi bailer that can be closed for a dry ride in calmer conditions when not needed. D-ring anchors available for thigh straps and Clam shell seat pad.

Stability & Speeds
Long and efficient hull lines and a slender bow for low form and wave drag for a smooth and fast running hull. Increased waterline beam adds capacity and stability.

Surf Skis –

Each Stellar Surf Ski is designed to meet the rigors of the environment where it will be paddled. Every Stellar Surf Ski has a through running vertical stringer, fore and aft of the cockpit, to add stiffness to the boat when riding big waves or paddling out through the surf. The contoured stern deck and curved transition to the bow deck add structural strength to prevent stress fractures and the fiberglass taped seam reinforces the deck joint.

Advantage Construction– This laminate is Soric cored fiberglass with a gelcoat exterior, making is stiffer and lighter than the Sport, but also at a good price point.  This laminate has better performance than the Sport, but also similar toughness and ability to absorb some abuse.  This is our most popular boat for touring and entry level surf skis for its combination of durability, stiffness, weight and price.
