Wilderness Systems Truefit Sunshield

The Wilderness Systems sun shield offers a simple and effective solution for keeping the sun and splashes off your legs while kayaking. With its no-tunnel design, it provides sun protection without restricting movement, allowing for an open cockpit feel. It offers a hassle-free sizing process, as the TrueFit size for your kayak is conveniently indicated on all Wilderness Systems kayak models, eliminating the need for charts or measurements. This is a Truefit W12/W13 size.

This half skirt has a bar and strap enabling you to adjust the width of the skirt to fit a narrower kayak by bending the plastic bar upwards and “doming” the skirt so it is narrower without sagging causing water run off rather than pooling

KEY FEATURES:

• Sticky edging grips the cockpit rim tightly and adds extra durability
• Implosion bar prevents water from pooling on top of the Sun Shield
• Large zippered mesh pocket on deck for storing items that can get wet
• Bungee rand for easy on/off
• Durable urethane-coated nylon
• Compatible with many kayak brands, see sizing information

SIZING INFORMATION:

Note this 1/2 Spray skirt or 1/2 Spray Deck is suitable only for kayak with very long cockpit openings typically found in recreational kayaks suitable for lake rivers and estuaries.. Wilderness systems no longer make a smaller version to fit their sea kayaks etc. This is best suited to kayaks where the cockpit is at least 127cm long if used smaller than this it will likely be bunched up against your stomach- it may suit as small as 102cm long cockpits but will depend a bit on your seat position etc.

This will fit the following Wilderness systems kayaks (Labelled W12/W13 in other sizing charts)
Aspire 105
Aspire 100
Pungo 105/120/125 (2019 and later although probably also prior to this- not sure what this proviso means but wilderness systems think it is worth mentioning)
Other Kayak Cockpits ideal for length 50-58” (127-147cm recommended but will fit longer) x width 21-24” (53-61 cm recommended but will fit narrower) . May fit cockpits longer than 40″ depending on your seating position,

Determining the best fit for your kayak has never been easier. Size information on all Wilderness Systems kayaks identifies the TrueFit size for your kayak for wilderness systems kayaks. This will also fit Perception Kayaks in the P12-P13 size range. No charts or measuring are required (unless you have a non wilderness systems kayak).
