Rudder Swivel Kit

This kit is a replacement set of connections between the rudder cord (used to steer the rudder) and the actual rudder. Easily detachable from the rudder (if rudder is removed for transport etc.) they provide an easily adjustable secure fitting.

Made up of a left and right side. Each side is made up of a  black cylinder with a through tunnel which the rudder cord is threaded through. A perpendicular threaded hole and a grub screw secure the cord at the desired length. The grub screw requires an allen key (not supplied but available separately. This allen head (and the screws) is the same as used on some kayak SUP fins (as used by FCS etc. and available from us)

To use the black section goes through the rudder bracket first and then the rubber washer is placed on the spindle followed by the split ring.

To obtain the straightest cord line you may wish to mount under or over the rudder bracket.

Please note that this kit is a replacement kit and is not considered compatible with older style rudders that use other methods to connect the rudder cord or or wire cables.

2 x Rudder Swivels
2 x Set Screws (3/32 inch hex key).
2 x Rubber Washers
2 x Rudder Pin Rings.

As used by current model (post 2015) Wilderness Systems kayaks in the Tsunami, Tarpon, and Pamlico series as well as the Polaris, ATAK, Radar. Perception also use these in their Pilot, & Showdown models.

This is also used in the Perception and Wilderness Systems Rudder Kits (available separately in 2 versions Long and shorter pin each) and may be fitted to kayaks that have had one of these kits fitted as well as a wide range of other kayaks.

Replacement rudder cable swivel kit for Wilderness Systems and Perception kayak rudders from 2015 – current. Used to attach the steering cable to the rudder assembly. Kit Includes 2 Rudder Swivels, 2 Set Screws, 2 Rubber Washers and 2 Rudder Pin Rings. You will need a 3/32 inch hex key (same as used for surf board fins from FCS etc.)
