Surge Canoe Yoke

The Surge wooden canoe yoke is a replacement yoke for surge canoes like the Yukon but will likely suit many other brands and models.
Canoe Yokes connect the two canoe gunwales at the balance point of a canoe partially to stop your canoe from flexing and allow it to hold it’s shape as well as allowing it to be carried on your shoulders.
This yoke is 90cm long and 6.5cm wide (at the ends) You can shorten this yoke if it is to long for your canoe (lengthening it not so much)

Similar in shape and purpose to ye olde timey yokes (that’s a stick thing that carries two buckets on some strings in the etching you have) the curve to allows the wood to rest on your shoulders carrying the weight of the canoe but still pass around your neck allowing you to walk upright and see where you are going.
This yoke may also be used to reinforce an existing yoke as an extra thwart if your kayak flexes excessively.
NB – a light sand and re varnish is recommended (or oil)
